Gold’s Gym SoCal hired Bill McBride/BMC3 to consult with us on operational delivery and our quickly evolving systems, people and structure due to our rapid growth plan.
Mr. McBride provided guidance and systems to add structure and accountability to various teams within our company. He spent time in our clubs, assessed the environment and made recommendations based on his vast industry experience.
During his contract with us, he implemented GM/AGM training and a Quarterly Business Review. During the review process, each club would prepare the Business Review Report and present the findings to our Senior leadership team along with Mr. McBride. The components of the business review included financial metrics, Medallia (customer service metrics), 30-60-90 day planning and staff evaluation for placement and development.
Mr. McBride worked with us from August 2013 to July 2014 on a 5 day a month on-going retainer basis. During this time, we learned a system of club accountability and a new level of team cohesiveness. Mr. McBride is thorough, committed and has an in depth knowledge of the health club industry. To this day, we value our mutual relationship and share insights on a continuous basis. Chairman and CEO of Stafford Hills Club
We hired Bill McBride/BMC3 in 2014 to consult with us on our new large upscale tennis, aquatic and fitness facility – Stafford Hills Club in Tualatin, Oregon (Portland/Lake Oswego Market). We initially hired Bill to work as our contract Vice President of Sales & Marketing but his input and role expanded further to provide insights into our overall operations and leadership structure.
Bill did a very comprehensive initial assessment of our facility, strategy and personnel. He communicated very well. He generated an initial report with recommendations that we felt were right on target. He then began to implement the recommendations with a high degree of success in staff selection, compensation plans, sales, sales training, pricing and outreach. While we were very pleased with his sales/sales management and marketing strategy acumen, we were also equally impress with his understanding of overall operations, strategy and management talent. Bill made recommendations on the member experience and our overall leadership structure that we subsequently implemented with great results. He then trained and mentored our site leader (COO/GM), rapidly accelerating his learning curve and building his confidence in leader this complex premium fitness facility.
I highly recommend Bill and BMC3 on all challenges club operators face with their business. He relates well with the on-site team, ownership and is collaborative in delivering best practices. His expertise, authenticity, integrity and follow-through are beyond reproach. I trust him greatly.

We hired Bill McBride (BMC3) to help improve the performance of my two health clubs in Manhattan, KS in 2013. His organization – BMC3 took on a contract role and Bill was appointed to act as President & CEO of the two clubs and manage the strategy, operations and performance working side by side with my CEO of GTM and HCI Hospitality.
Bill led the club operations through the on-site General Manager. Bill initially did a site assessment, marketing assessment, people evaluation, and systems evaluation. He then presented his findings to us in a comprehensive and thorough manner covering the full landscape of the business. We concurred with his assessment and engaged him to implement his strategy to improve the marketing, website, membership, operations, member experience, retention strategy and financials of our club operations.
His approach was thorough and the implementation plan resulted in a dramatic increase in performance including, membership, personal training, member experience (NPS of 58.4%), retention, operations and net income. The team responded well to Bill’s collaborative leadership approach and delivered. The results from 2013 to 2014 were a ten-fold increase in net income. Under his leadership we surpassed our 2014 budget and were extremely pleased with the results he and our club teams accomplished. I highly recommend Bill as a consultant and operator.
